Oracle Database@AWS now permits advertising aggregate CIDRs and default routes during ODB peering configuration. This change removes the previous requirement to list every individual network CIDR, allowing a single route to cover all connected networks via Transit Gateway. The update significantly reduces manual routing maintenance when extending VPCs or on-premises environments.
- Eliminates manual CIDR updates for each new VPC or on-prem network
- Supports default 0.0.0.0/0 routes for simplified broad connectivity
- Reduces operational overhead for Transit Gateway-integrated architectures
- Enables single aggregate route to cover all reachable networks
Fleet impact: For ExaCC/RAC and Aurora fleets on ODB, this simplifies network scaling by allowing default or aggregate routes instead of granular CIDR lists. Check your current ODB peering configs to leverage this for easier Transit Gateway integration and reduced change management risk.
